Find a better duo. We'll wait. This is a 1954 Gibson Console Grande Double 8 electric steel guitar in flamed Maple Sunburst with matching Gibson GA-50T amplifier. This set was purchased together by a Rev. Oran E. Duncan. and we acquired it from his daughter after his passing. It's an absolute SIGHT. The lap is a fairly light hollowbody with two necks and a triple bound body in sunburst. The steel comes with its original legs and case. The guitar is in overall good condition for its age and the tenacity in which it was played. It also comes with a silk textile with the embroidery reading "Manteca WMC" of which the jury is still out on. :)
The matching amp is a Gibson GA-50T with original foot pedal. One of the best sounding amps out of the 50's. Hands down. This amp is covered in brown leatherette, boasts 25w with 1x8" and 1x12" speakers. The speakers have been upgraded and, with the added Tremolo circuit-OH MY GOD! This thing f#$%ing sings! It is a four channel amp-three being "Instrument" and one "Microphone". There are two 6L6 tubes for the output stage, three 6SJ7 for the preamp, two 6J5s for thee phase splitter, and a 5V4 tube for the rectifier on its bottom-mounted chassis.
